Suppose this can count as a welcome post, I have had a live journal for over a year but never got round to putting any entries but I am totally addicted to live journal and a member of over 60 great communities, now I am getting really tempted by the lures of a paid account; I just want to try this out before I give in so I can have all the pretty layouts and more icons yeah, hopefully I will be able to figure out how that works.
I know no one will read this but its good to have somewhere to vent and rant and lately I need that so much, that and I can have a homepage, never mind the whole my space thing, live journal is just so much prettier and it feeds all my kinks.
Right anyway now what do I write, well my current favourite fandom is Supernatural, how can anyone not love this show, just look and Jensen and Jared OMG can you get any hotter :) rps anyone!
I have noticed a pattern with the fandom's I get addicted to, there are loads of shows and films I love and watch religiously but only a select few prompt me to go search out forums, live journals and fan sites to get involved in.
The ones that hook me in are the ones with characters I can love and either ship or slash or fancy the pants of :) like before supernatural my addiction was BBM, specifically wranglers where my Jack and Ennis get to have the life together they deserve and not to mention Jake/Heath RPS, too good, just makes me so happy. I need to go catch up on my fics as I am behind on a few series.
Sounds like a plan for the long weekend, that and the DVD arrived so I'm sure I will watch that as some time (again).
That's if I can drag myself away from the wincest, this stuff is highly addictive and the majority of it so well written, what can you expect from the show with two gorgeous guys who have lots of angst, pain and love for each other, and the constant eye contact and touching omg, you really shouldn't create shows like this if you don't want it slashed, I'm sure show creators know what there doing, exactly how to hook fan girls in and making them brothers wont stop us :).
My slash ships are always the buddy type, close friends or along that line, now lets see it started with Benny/Ray V in due south before I even knew what slash was, I would say it corrupted me but even I dont believe that and then I have gone through a few pairings, I tend to be very loyal and stick with one pairing forever, the best are Qui-Gon Jinn/Obi-Wan Kenobi, Harry Potter/Ron Weasley dont get the Draco think eugh, Jack Twist/Ennis Del Mar and of course Sam/Deam Winchester. Of course I have discovered RPS which is amazing but I wont go into that just now.
As I have stated I am also a rabid shipper and have gone through many fandoms in pursuit of great fanfics, Im trying to remember them all now and its hard obviously Buffy/Angel are still a fave, Miss Parker/Jarod are amazing, Nine/Rose are tops and I could be a Booth/Bones shipper, I just have a thing for David Borenanaz.
Seems I lean more toward slash lately though, it just provides me with so much entertainment especially while watching TV and films, I will laugh at things other people dont get and grin like an idiot at inappropriate moments, its always great fun when me and my non slasher mate goes to the cinema, she knows how my minds works.
Since discovering live journal I have a serious fanvid/icon/wallpaper/banner etc addiction, I have lost count of the fan vids I have stored on my computers. Its all CEs fault, if I never saw Chris as doctor who I would still be none the wiser about live journal, which brings me nicely on to Saturday which I am dreading. New doctor who without my ecclecscake but DT, I have seen the adverts a number of times and they keep playing it on the radio to torture me, every time I hear the tardis I want to cry. I know Im supposed to be over this but I still want my Nine/Rose and I wont apologise for it, its Chris fault, why does he have be such an amazing actor who brings so much intensity and emotion to every role.
See I wasnt a doctor who fan before last season, I thought like a lot of people that daleks etc were a joke but I watched as I was intrigued by the adverts and the first time Chris beamed at the screen I was a goner and a loyal nine/rose shipper.
David Tennant as nice as he doesnt have the same effect on me and dont think he ever will, too skinny, bug eyed and big hair obviously doesnt work for me but if I fall in love with his character that could change. With Chris I didnt have a choice but to fall in love with his doctor and CE, still cant watch the last episode with out dissolving into a sobbing, quivering wreck.
So I have new strategy, if I am going to enjoy this doctor who at all, which in a weird way I dont want to cause Im betraying my loyalty to nine/rose but that just stupid, I am going to try and treat it like a whole new show, try not to carry over any CE baggage and give DT a chance at least, but knowing me I will sit through it on Saturday and it will be the same as the Christmas invasion and I will swing between seething and swearing at the TV and meh, who cares. Prove me wrong RTD. Wish I could be like the girls on Time and Chips who jumped on the 10 bandwagon before he even appeared on screen; obviously Im not fickle though.
Why do I love shows that have evil geniuses in charge who take delight in torturing me, as I always say I have a sadomasochistic streak and like to inflict pain on myself. At least I can go online and drool over Christopher Eccleston, Jake Gyllenhaal or Jensen Ackles to help the pain.
I think thats enough rambling for my first entry, if anyone agrees with any of the rubbish written about then comment or friend me whatever, would be nice to know if anyone reads my rants
No doubt upcoming rants will involve work, my lovely family, apparent obsession with shows involving America classic cars Impala or Riveria anyone and the review of doctor who and other drooling.
